1.These heiroglyphics are at the temple of karnak in egypt. The sun with the duck always means "Son of God." That was our favorite thing to look for. we walked around looking and chanting 'duck and sun!' 'duck and sun!'
2.on the metro in cairo. i thought the hanging empty pepsi cans were curious. they weren't good handles. anyone have an explanation for me?
3.this is the roman ampitheatre in downtown amman. i went to afree concert there. didnt i put up a video of this? hmm..
4.i went to mt. nebo. that's me in the blue pants that are now ruined. its ok. they're tent-like on purpose and i dont need the tent look when i get back.
5.me and my group on the mt. nebo look-out. the dead sea was to the left of us. your left.

  1. Pepsi cans...are they full? Empty (I hope so!)? Maybe they are hanging as a reminder to recycle...yep, that is my guess. When you find out the real reason let me know!

  2. Sorry, can not shed any light on the Pepsi can thing; I have always been more of a Coke girl myself.
Glad to see your Chacos are getting some good use! And sorry about your laundry sitch. That is totally lame.

  3. Cool stuff Nikki. I'm curious about those pepsi cans too. Were they just empty aluminum cans rigged up, or were they like functional handles made to look like pepsi cans?

PS - you wrote: The sun with the dog always means "Son of God."
I'm guessing you meant sun with the duck?

  4. My best guess is that the Pepsi cans were some kind of advertisement. Kind of like you reach up for something to hold onto...and lo and behold! Reach out and grab a Pepsi. Or some other craziness like that.
